Heartstrings Animal Advocates, Inc., was founded on June 20, 2016.
Our mission is to assist animals in high kill shelters by changing their numbers into names and placing them with furever families. This is accomplished by helping multiple shelters in Kansas and the surrounding states find misplaced animals furever homes.
Heartstrings also works with larger rescues on transporting and vetting animals to provide a better chance of being adopted if not adopted locally first.
In the first year Heartstrings was established, over 450 animals were given a new chance by providing foster care between the shelter and rescue or adoption. Many of the animals were from the Texas, Oklahoma and other high-kill areas. Heartstrings has worked with many organizations including the Kansas Humane Society, El Dorado Animal Shelter, Caring Hands Humane Society, Junction City Humane Society and owner surrenders in multiple states.
